Jersey Ave Parkers - This one is for you

Car Backed in

It started as a once in a while thing mainly reserved for the first two rows in the main lot where traffic is the worst. I’ve noticed it increasing and it is spreading like a virus. It is now impacting my commute adding precious minutes to it.

People are backing into their spots into Jersey Ave.

I honestly can’t see the reason for this unless you are in the first two rows in the main lot and are trying to avoid the traffic. It’s everywhere now though. In the back where the track is, in the standard rows, I’ve even seen it in the secondary lot. WTF People?

So here is my morning- I wait in traffic to get into the main lot. I turn down either the third or forth isle and get stuck waiting some more. Some idiot is backing in. Usually this is a 3 try process. They almost NEVER get it on the first try. I get to sit there as I watch the familiar in and out of the parking challenged. I wait for my first chance to floor it and sneak around the car until I get about 15 feet and another idiot is backing in.

My favorite people are the ones against the back row because GOD KNOWS how much traffic is there to warrant a back in. (I’m being sarcastic if you couldn’t grasp that)

Even better? The person that passes their desired spot then decides to reverse a bit before backing in. Then *I* have to reverse to let them through. This gets even more exciting when there is also someone behind me. Usually, I just don’t move and wait for them to get frustrated and go find another spot.

Am I missing something? Do you get bonus minutes on the commute home backing in?

ok, its coming up on one year since this escalator caught fire, and its still boarded up and nothing has been done…now i know amtrak is broke, but come on..we’re talkin about one of the busiest stations in the country, and it seems to me like they just dont give a shit anymore…can you think of any other station, or venue for that matter, that would leave a stairwell out of commision for so long?

its an absolute disgrace, and all you commuters should be in an uproar.

Open letter to the arse-biscuit driving a white or cream-colored SUV, truck or other high profile vehicle who banged my PT Cruiser in the Princeton Junction parking lot tonight:

May you develop an untreatable puslike drip from your nether regions.

May your 12-year-old daughter announce she’s pregnant.

May your son announce he’s becoming a hare krishna.

May your spouse leave you for your brother.

And may KARMA bite you royally in the ass for being an self-absorbed idiot driver and not leaving a note after you swiped my car pulling out of your parking spot. Judging by where the “skid marks” are, you obviously aren’t driving a normal sized car.

Better hope there was no paint transfer, you twat. For if there is and I find you, I assure you I will show your property as much respect as you showed mine.

    Trenton Times May 25th

Cell-phone photo provides lead in train station attack

    Thursday, May 25, 2006

    By TOM HAYDON

    Newhouse News Service

New Brunswick police investigating the broad-daylight attack of an NJ Transit passenger outside the city train station have a clear image of their suspects, thanks to a quick-thinking witness armed with a cell-phone camera.

The victim, a 25-year-old man from the Somerset section of Franklin Township, was riding a New York-bound train when he told two other passengers who were acting obnoxiously to be more considerate.

When the train stopped in New Brunswick, the unsuspecting victim got off, went to a flower shop in the train station, then walked out on to Albany Street, New Brunswick police Sgt. Richard Rowe said.

The two men from the train had followed him into the street, where they beat him, punching him in the face before rushing back to the northbound station platform, still carrying their luggage, Rowe said.

A witness to the assault saw the attackers leaving and quickly pulled out a cell phone and took a sharp, clear photograph of them.

New Brunswick police released the picture yesterday of the two assailants who broke the victim’s jaw so badly he needed surgery.

“It’s better than most surveillance camera photos I’ve seen,” Rowe said. This is the first time he could recall the police department issuing photographs taken on a cell phone.

Police received a call about the May 14 assault at 12:50 p.m. and found the injured man, who was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He needed at least two operations to repair the damage to his jaw, Rowe said.

Police said the attackers got on the train in Hamilton. Authorities are asking that anybody with information call the New Brunswick Police at (732) 745-5218.

The pictures of the two assholes in today’s paper (page A6) are amazing. It should be easy to find them. But it makes you think twice now about voicing complaints on the train.

RIPPER: What’s with those new trees that were planted at the over-flow parking lot? And those real-estate-available signs? Is there a connection? Are we about to lose that parking lot?

I’ve had these transihell.com pins I’ve been plotting to get to yellowbird without being sighted. yesterday was the perfect chance. for some reason the 634 was empty and I had my own two-sy. I’ve had the plan in my head to put the pins on the seat marker things. At least now I didn’t have a witness. Next was how to attach them and not get busted. The markers are picked up before I get off so I was working on the plan. Then yellowbird gave me the opportunity. While he was setting my marker he dropped one on my seat (remember me?).

Perfect! So I attached them and just before I got off I put it on the seat with the hopes he’d find it.

Ripper survives undetected yet again. Hey yellowbird, I take that later train sometimes so I’ll try and give a heads up when I do.

Ok, we’ve moaned about everything else. Let’s bitch for a moment about the too-small size of individual parking lot spots, at least at my station. Like the Alexander Road Bridge going over the tracks just south (?) of the Princeton Junction train station, the width was obviously determined in the golden days before SUVs became suburbanites’ vehicle of choice.

The spots in the PJ daily lots are rather a tight fit to begin with, even if you drive a regular sized car like me. Well, somebody with an Expedition parked next to me last Friday. Going home, I literally had to get in on the passenger side and scoot over as the driver’s side door could only open three inches before dinging the miniMack truck next to me.

I’m not one for keying someone’s car, but I admit the thought crossed my mind that day…

What’s with this homeless woman that seems to live in the waiting room? Why doesn’t the city do something about her?
