Yesterday, I rode on the 2:13 M&E at Penn Station NY. The monitors and the track announcement all said track 13. There was no train on track 14. There was one on track 14.
You had to ask the conductors (a bunch of short, fat women) if this was the correct train. Even though they saw […]

I just got a letter stating that my parking pass at Princeton Junction will be going up $15 per month to $55. I don’t mind because it’s still a good deal, but I was just curious about what parking costs at other stations. What are the rest of you paying? How is availability? I know […]

Here’s a helpful tip…when you get too old, you shouldn’t be allowed to drive. I was in a turn lane this weekend when the old guy in front of me stopped and very slowly went into the other turn lane without signaling. I almost rear-ended him since I am not a traffic psychic. For a […]

I would like to thank the following people for making my train ride to and from Hoboken this past Friday and this Monday morning so enjoyable.
Friday - to the man sitting directly behind me who was sick and sneezed loudly and forcefully without covering his nose and mouth , thanks. Thanks for spraying me with […]

    2-2.5 inches of rain.
    40-60MPH winds
    Leaves primed to come down.
I smell “leaves on the track” problems.

There is an article in todays “Star Ledger” about the new schedules and - OH BOY- new trains added. But in their infinate stupidity, the 2 new trains added are very early ones , around 5:30. When questioned about this the NJ transit official said in their infinate brilliance “If you schedule it, they will […]

Tow straight days now the portal bridge was opened during the morning rush, delaying all the trains behind it for hours afterward. Who’s the rocket scientist at Amtrak that continues to let this happen?

Let’s get right into this. I grew up in suburbia full of Drug Fair’s, TCBY’s and Bagel’s ‘N More’s. As a young lad, there was no carrying an umbrella allowed. Period. Having an umbrella made you a target for endless ridicule and possibly a good ass kicking. One might as well wear a pink rubber […]

I overheard yesterday a couple of conductors talking about “not making the same mistakes the NYC subway workers made last year.” They seemed rather agitated about their contract. Is this somethign we need to be worried about?
