I am sick and tired of standing around and waiting for the conductor to open the doors when a train stops, especially at Newark. Just sent this letter to NJT:
I am writing to complain about an on-going situation on NJT trains. Frequently, when trains arrive at a station (Newark, in particular), there is a noticeable […]

I started re-commuting to NYC from Dunellen a year ago, […]

I sent this today. I’ll keep you posted on any response from NJT. Your comments are always welcome -

I would like your official input on the proper way to exit NJ Transit trains in NY Penn Station during rush hour. I understand it’s clearly a priority to get passengers off the train […]

‘Twas the night before Thanksgiving
Twas the night before Thanksgiving, when all through Penn Station
We were standing around, just grumbling and waitin’
We stared at the board, going insane
Hoping NJT would soon post our train
It finally pulled up, and jerked to stop.
The doors wouldn’t open, that was no shock.
The crowd pushed and shoved just to embark,
I knew […]

Let me begin by saying, this will be a complete dump or random shit since it’s been a while since I provided a true Ripper post to my beloved fans. I assure you that this is all related to commuting…the happy place I am 20 hours a week.
The holidays are approaching which will provide […]

Some moron straight out of “My Name Is Earl” missed his stop in Lindenhurst last night and got revenge upon the LIRR by scratching profanities into the new train’s window. I almost got into a fight with him when I challenged his upbringing.
He didn’t know I got his photo. Full story here: http://cynicor.blogspot.com/2005/11/scratch-n-lose-lirr-vandal.html

Let me preface this by saying that I expressly build “NJT fuck-up time” into my schedule for such a purpose.
Currently shivering in South Orange, well past the 5-10 min supposed delay for a M+E train. I have a super important interview today, and its cold…. Thus its time for a major fuck-up. Listening to my […]

X-posted from my Xanga……..
A fellow commuter who goes by the name “Ripper” runs a website called Transithell.com. Great place to go complain about your fellow commuters and the rude things they do, such as sitting on your briefcase before they even say “excuse me” and allow you time to move it out of the […]

There’s a not-so-young couple, obviously very much in love, that reunites each morning in the last car of the NEC train that arrives in NYC at 7:05. I’m not sure where he gets on, but she gets on at Newark. Every morning it’s the same thing… yakkedy yak, her constant loud babbling breaks […]
