Of the 20 days that I traveled in October from Linden, both the NEC and NJCL trains were delayed in the morning 17/20 days…A total, absolute disgrace.

    Train 5700. Westfield 6.47->Newark 7.07
    WHAT A JOKE!
    NEVER!
    DOESN’T HAPPEN!
    The schedule wasn’t changed, the delays simply grew larger.
    It was already late at Westfield. By Newark that delay was compounded by the inability to access the NEC and voila, we’re more than 15 minutes late.
    Do we get anything from the conductor? An apology? An […]

    I paid my dues for over 2 years commuting from Metropark on NJ Transit several years ago. I truly don’t wish that hellish station on anyone. Between the overcrowding, the smells (of the people & the asswater on the tracks) or the insane parking situation, I’m not so sure if it’s worth the […]

    This is just a general comment, but has anyone had a problem with them that you’d like to share? I’ve noticed it both on the NJ trains (light rail, path) as well as the NYC subway and the greyhounds. That one person who decides to sneak in a good dig, sometimes even eating it afterwards, […]

    I have another “bumping into you” story, although it happened about a year and a half ago. My last incident made me think of this.
    I got on the 6 train at about 103rd St. after a tough job interview at 104th & 1st. As always, the train was crowded because it was rush hour, […]

    A while back, some obnoxious, gen-x’r valley girl was carping away on her cell during our usually peaceful morning commute on the 7:34. Everything you never needed to know from someone you would never WANT to know. Anyway, the call kept getting dropped and each time she’d phone her friend again, valley girl […]

    I’m female, about 5′5, and 140 pounds, aka not big.
    At about 5:30 p.m. during the typical rush hour, I was getting off the 4-5-6 subway line at Union Square. There was this stocky, slow-moving woman going up the stairs, and because it was rush hour, people were more or less stuffed together on the […]

    Last night on the 5:30 Clocker we got to Newark and a woman put two girls (probably 11-12 years old) on the train by themselves. They got into the car when the woman realized that it was the wrong train, so she yelled to the girls to get off. One got out OK, but apparently […]

    For the few people on this site that take the bus…I’m wondering if you experience this too. I’ll be at the bus stop waiting for the bus with say - 1 to 8 other people. We see the bus approaching and the bus driver sees us. It starts to slow down […]

    Why, why, why do people (esp. women — sorry to be sexist, but I am a woman too and am complaining) persist in having trite monologues during their commutes, subjecting innocent passengers to their blather and not giving a damn?
    It’s always my luck to have a seemingly uneventful, quiet bus ride interrupted with the persistent […]
