So I left work today at 7pm and was home by 9pm which is my regular commute. Kinda odd. It just goes to show you that there’s so much congestion without the snow that it’s equal to the roads with snow. That must mean that all the snow particles are the same […]

Every day that a snowstorm is expected, all the bus people take the trains. Fair enough, inasmuch as they seem to get through better than anything on rubber and asphalt, but can’t you learn to read the signs in the train stations? You speak English with a perfectly normal Northeastern accent.
Heard in the […]

The plows did a great job making the roads passable for this morning’s commute. Kudos to them! Shame on the moronic drivers, however, who are too lazy to remove the snow from their vehicles before getting on the roads. This is not only inconsiderate but dangerous to the other drivers who have chuncks of […]

Every morning I take the 7:36am train from New Providence to Hoboken. This is normally a very crowded train where seat space is limited. Every morning there is a group of three people who think they are better than everyone and therefor turn a two three seaters into a six seater. Meanwhile, there are people […]

Every day I stand in the cold as do so many others waiting for the train to pull in. Most of the time it’s the older train cars, the ones with the brown pleather seats. However, every once in a while there are the new cars. These are either the cars with […]

I meant to swap this gem for my Reinertsen Motors one on my back license plate a few weeks ago when the Transithell one arrived, but no dice until I was able to find a hex wrench that was the right size for the bolts. Got it installed this weekend, and tested it out […]

One day this week I had the mis-fortune of having bad travel partners in both directions. In the morning, the older gentleman next to me fell asleep and was inching ever so slowly toward the point where his head would be on my shoulder. When we got to Newark I actually switched seats.
On the […]

I take the 6:54am train out of Princeton Junction 2-3 days a week (the other days it’s the 6:24 Clocker or 5:50 NJT), and we used to get to NY Penn in about 54 minutes, which was pretty good, especially if you had to stand the whole way (which often happens). Then Secaucus Transfer opened, […]

This morning I was standing on the platform waiting for my commuter train into NYC, when I heard a voice with a heavy accent (more likely Zimbabwean or South African to my ears, than Brit or Aussie, but who knows, other than the guy himself?) say “You’ve got the right lickin’s today, but you need […]

I just got off University Drive on the ramp to I-595 and on the service road getting ready to merge onto I-595 with a long line of traffic when all of a sudden the traffic just stopped. The car in front of me had to veer off to the right to avoid hitting the […]
